Objectives of the PASL

As prescribed in the constitution, there are four main objectives of the Population Association of Sri Lanka:

The promotion of research in Demography and Population Studies with special reference to Sri Lanka.
The development of closer contacts among persons engaged in teaching, research and policy planning, and implementation in the field of Demography and Population Studies.
The dissemination of knowledge of Demography and Population Studies and actively promoting an interest in the subject at institutions of higher learning and other organizations working in the relevant field and
Promoting awareness of population and development issues in the community at large, with a view to influencing public policy.
